The Big Chop of 2013

And just like that, I was holding it in my hands. All these months, all this time spent growing it, nurturing it. There it was, in my hands. No longer a part of me.

My ponytail.

I loved that ponytail.

I have had shorter hairstyles before. Like when I was a tomboy.

I’ve had hair disasters. Like when I got my bangs (and only my bangs) permed.

I’ve struggled with bangs, full stop.

Thankfully, hair grows back. I’m lucky to be able to choose when to lose it.

Tomorrow this will be sent to the Little Princess Trust where I hope someday someone is as happy wearing it as I was.

(But first I need to see what Scott would look like with a ponytail.)

You are so awesome Caitlin – and your hair looks fabulous short! Scott looks better without a ponytail :)

It looks great! I’m pretty sure no one wants my bleached hair or I’d do the same :)
